Deadline:

Do you care about your clients as much as you care about their pets? Do you want to help create the best possible final moments for these families? If you are caring, compassionate, and ready to step back from a clinical role, we have the perfect opportunity for you.

About Final Rest

Beau

Rachel treated Beau so gently and kindly—taking as long as it needed—such that he drifted away beside me without feeling a thing. Every aspect of her service was perfect and she made one of the worst days I have ever experienced into something beautiful, which gave me the closure that I needed on his passing.

Garry, April 2023,

Final Rest offers home euthanasia and cremation to cats and dogs. We try to turn the process of letting them go into a positive experience. We care about the little things, and we hope you do as well.

We are all about customer service, not clinical ability. If you love your clients and they love you, we want you to get in touch!

What’s in it for you?

Rachel

I feel privileged to be invited into people’s homes to give their pets a dignified euthanasia, and I am appreciated every day by my clients. I feel incredibly lucky to work with such a wonderful team and I love having the flexibility to fit work around family life.

,

We offer flexible hours, so please chat with us about what you can do. We are ideally looking for someone to work 6–8 hours Tuesday–Thursday alongside a Saturday rota. We can offer more hours if needed.

We are our employees. We believe in treating our team fairly and want to work in a friendly, relaxed work environment. We offer:

  • £49,920 salary pro-rata (£24 per hour), reviewed annually.
  • Profit share as a quarterly bonus.
  • Flexible pension with the option of salary sacrifice.
  • RCVS, VDS, and a professional subscription.
  • Five weeks of holiday plus pro-rata bank holidays.
  • Enhanced sick pay from day one and enhanced maternity pay after two years of service.
  • No out-of-hours and predictable working hours.
  • A small team where you can really make a difference.
  • Job satisfaction! The amount of gratitude we receive is humbling. Our Google reviews are a testament to this.

What does a typical day as a mobile vet look like?

The rhythm of each day is a little different, but we book fixed appointment slots so you are never rushed. In general, you will:

  • Collect stock and beds from Havant.
  • Attend pets in their home for euthanasia.
  • Take pets into our care after euthanasia and transport them for cremation. This includes some manual handling.
  • Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records.

What are we looking for?

Above all, we want someone compassionate; someone with a desire to take action to help our clients when they are struggling.

Good written and verbal communication is essential. We do not expect you to be confident attending euthanasia appointments solo. We provide training for the role and you will have a second person as support until you are happy doing so (usually 1–3 months). You need to be computer-literate, hold a full UK driving licence, and have a car insured for business use that is suitable for up to two large dog beds.

This role isn’t for everyone. We work with bereavement every day on a side of the veterinary industry that many would rather not think about. If you are interested but unsure, please get in touch anyway. We would love the chance to show you what we do.

If you think this job might be for you, please get in touch with Christine (christine@final-rest.co.uk) along with a brief résumé. If you have any questions feel free to email, or give us a call on 07726 860738.

We look forward to hearing from you!
